Baldock half-marathon and Stevenage CTC 'Start of Summertime' ride

A very well done to all those who took part in the inaugural Baldock Half-Marathon on 18 March. It was great to see so many familiar, friendly faces on the day and we're already looking forward to an even bigger and better event next year!

And talking of familiar, friendly faces, we were pleased to see many of our regular customers at the Stevenage CTC 'Start of Summertime' ride on 25 March.

We were glad to be able to take part ourselves, with Matt completing the 60km event (on a single speed MTB no less!) and Mick, Kim, John and Bam all doing the 115km route.

The Greenway Challenge

We are very pleased to announce that we will be supporting the Greenway Challenge on 6 May by providing race numbers for the event and also boosting entry numbers with both Mick and Bam running on the day!

Product of the Month: Bryton Rider 35T GPS bike computer

With Kim, Mick, John and Bam all training hard for the Peterborough 100 on 22 April in aid of Action Medical Research - the Bryton Rider 35T GPS bike computer has been a great tool in allowing them to train as effectively as possible for the 100 mile challenge that awaits them. And that’s why we’ve made it our ‘POTM’ once again.

Product of the Month: Trek Superfly 100 AL Pro

This month's choice is the gorgeous looking Trek Superfly 100 AL Pro.

A part of this year's Gary Fisher collection, the Superfly 100 AL Pro features 29" wheels for better obstacle clearance, more momentum and greater ride stability.

G2 Geometry improves handling in all conditions, at all speeds, with the frame constructed from Trek's Alpha Platinum Aluminium - which features an E2 tapered head tube and press-fit bottom bracket.

Trek's patented Active Braking Pivot (ABP) offers always-active suspension and this bike comes with the ABP Convert set-up which also provides a thru-axle that's 35% stiffer than any open dropout design.

FCC MTB Wheels form another part of the awesome set-up, with oversized hub, flanges and end caps creating a flex-free 29" wheel capable of chewing through technical terrain.

The Trek Superfly 100 AL Pro costs £2,900 and full specs can be found by clicking here.

Event News!

Trisports are proud to announce their sponsorship of The Baldock Half-Marathon, which is held on 18 March 2012.

This inaugural event will provide a professional and well organised half-marathon for local run enthusiasts, as well as duathletes and triathletes looking to get in shape for the season ahead.

And congratulations to Nathan Scott, who won a free entry to the race via our Facebook competition last week.

Keep checking out our Facebook page for more opportunities to win with Trisports!

And as mentioned in last month’s edition of Trisports News, we will also be sponsoring another local event in the Mansion House Duathlon.

Held on 28 April 2012 at Old Warden Park, Biggleswade, and consisting of both sprint and standard distance races (which can be done as an individual or  relay team), this will be a great chance to flex your multisport muscles.

Again we will be there on race day to cheer everyone on and have a good stock of race day essentials for you to buy.

Competition Winner

Congratulations to Julie Llewellyn (pictured) who was named the winner of our Asics run shoe competition. Here she is collecting her prize, a pair of GT-2170s worth £100.00, from Trisports owner Michael Humphris.

Keep an eye out for more competitions coming your way soon!
